Tentative study tour by Namibia delegation to Ghana from 20-03-2023 to 24-03-2023

The study tour is basically on the promotion of carbon market in Namibia for an enhanced implementation of the NDC towards net-zero emission and climate- resilient development, in response to the climate emergency

Areas of interest amongst others are having discussions with the Ghana EPA on

1. application of the Paris Agreement Article 6.2- Ghana’s Framework on international carbon market and non- market approaches
2. potential carbon market projects on the energy and forestry sectors
3. the basic infrastructure for the carbon registry
4. carbon pricing

The delegation will take a field trip on implementation of carbon market activities on either forestry or energy project

In addition, there will also be presentation by UNDP Ghana on the mitigation project and work being implemented under Article 6.2

Lastly, the delegation will explore technical assistance and capacity building initiatives being implemented on the carbon market.
